The Sheep Hear His Voice

 By Richard St.James © 2014

[Revelation 1:15]
“And his feet like unto fine brass, as if they burned in a furnace; and his voice as the sound of many waters.”

1. The Voice of God

The Sheep Hear His VoiceSIGNIFICATION -
Every voice in the world is unique in signification.

“There are, it may be, so many kinds of voices in the world, and none of them is without signification.” [1 Corinthians 14:10]

TUNED - From the beginning of creation [nearly six thousand years ago] [before sin came into the world] man was tuned to hear the voice of God. God’s voice is unique in “signification”, and man was uniquely created to understand that “signification”.

“And they heard the voice of the Lord God walking in the garden in the cool of the day: and Adam and his wife hid themselves from the presence of the Lord God amongst the trees of the garden.” [Genesis 3:8]

DE-TUNED - When sin came into this world [in the day Adam sinned] man’s hearing became de-tuned or deaf to the voice of God.

Therefore, the men of this world know not GOD because they hear not God’s voice. Men cannot hear God’s voice because God is a Spirit [John 4:24], and men are dead to spiritual things.

Then if men hear not God’s voice directly, how can they then know God’s word?

The answer is this. They can know it … indirectly through the voice of the words of the preacher, the seer or the prophet.

Furthermore, they have the written word of God—THE BIBLE.

Therefore, men do have the word of God and it simply becomes a matter of the human heart! It is a choice; if men only would be willing to hearken and to obey the word of God then they would be re-tuned internally to hear “the voice of the Lord God”.

RE-TUNED - Men need to be “born again” or re-tuned.
“Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God. That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit.” [John 3:5-6]

Then, the problem lies in the human heart … in my heart and in your heart!

Jesus Christ, the Son of God, in the story of “a certain rich man” in Luke chapter sixteen told the Pharisee’s: “Abraham saith unto him, They have Moses and the prophets; let them hear them.” [Luke 16:29]

Men know not The LORD, because they choose not to know The LORD. Consider Pharaoh’s answer to Moses found in the book of Exodus.
“And Pharaoh said, Who is the Lord, that I should obey his voice to let Israel go? I know not the Lord, neither will I let Israel go.” [Exodus 5:2]

REBELLION - More than this, men do not want to know God, because they are natural born rebels to the words of God [THE BIBLE]. This explains why they will not obey God’s voice through the preaching of God’s word.

What can we conclude of this concerning the state of all men?

We can conclude this: the men of this world are tuned to listening to someone else. They are tuned to the drummer of all rebellion. They are tuned to listen to the drummer of this world: even to “the god of this world”.

Now “the god of this world” is Satan. Do you doubt me? Then believe the Bible! Do not be lazy to the hazarding of your soul. Take the time and check it out for yourself: “But if our gospel be hid, it is hid to them that are lost: In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them.” [2 Corinthians 4:3-4]

The Devil is “the god of this world”!

This is why the true Christian is commanded by the voice of God [the voice of his words] to love not world in First John chapter two, verses fifteen and sixteen: “Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him. For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world.” [1 John 2:15-16] A true Christian is de-tuned from the beat of this old world. Amen!

HEARKEN - How God beseeched Israel in the wilderness by his voice through his prophet Moses becomes an example for us to learn [“Now these things were our examples” 1 Corinthians 10:6] the following: that only those who hearken to the voice of God [obey] will know the blessings of God. If we want the blessings of God we need to be tuned to hearing the voice of God. Hearing is obeying! There is one word that says it all – hearken!

“And said, If thou wilt diligently hearken to the voice of the Lord thy God, and wilt do that which is right in his sight, and wilt give ear to his commandments, and keep all his statutes, I will put none of these diseases upon thee, which I have brought upon the Egyptians: for I am the Lord that healeth thee.” [Exodus 15:26]

TRANSMISSION - It is by the voice of God that instruction came to Israel. It is by the voice of God that the words of God came out the midst of a great fire. Now notice this: the voice of God transmits the words of God out the midst of a great fire for instruction to Israel and then to all men and all nations in all ages.

“Out of heaven he made thee to hear his voice, that he might instruct thee: and upon earth he shewed thee his great fire; and thou heardest his words out of the midst of the fire.” [Deuteronomy 4:36]

TALKING - God intends for man to see his glory and his greatness by talking to man by the words of his voice.

“And ye said, Behold, the Lord our God hath shewed us his glory and his greatness, and we have heard his voice out of the midst of the fire: we have seen this day that God doth talk with man, and he liveth.” [Deuteronomy 5:24]

COMMAND – When God talks to man he reveals his commands. Commands are instructions: “Then he openeth the ears of men, and sealeth their instruction”, [Job 33:16]. For example: God commanded Israel to “obey the voice of the lord thy God.”

“Thou shalt therefore obey the voice of the Lord thy God, and do his commandments and his statutes, which I command thee this day.” [Deuteronomy 27:10]

COMMITMENT – The commands [the instructions] of God to mankind become the basis for man’s commitment to God. Here is an instance of this. God saw Israel’s commitment to walk and to keep his words in their hearts.

“Thou hast avouched the Lord this day to be thy God, and to walk in his ways, and to keep his statutes, and his commandments, and his judgments, and to hearken unto his voice:” [Deuteronomy 26:17]

PERSONAL – Friend, the next time you hear the thunder in the storm: listen to it very carefully. For it is by the sound of thunder from out of heaven, or from “the noise” “of a still voice” that God will personally speak to a man. God will speak to you! He spoke to Elijah: “What doest thou here, Elijah?”

“The Lord thundered from heaven, and the most High uttered his voice.” [2 Samuel 22:14]

The voice of God thunders marvelously from “the sides of the north” through the expanse of the Universe to the ends of the earth, and at the same time is “a still small voice”. We have this scene shown to us in First Kings chapter nineteen: “And after the earthquake a fire; but the Lord was not in the fire: and after the fire a still small voice. And it was so, when Elijah heard it, that he wrapped his face in his mantle, and went out, and stood in the entering in of the cave. And, behold, there came a voice unto him, and said, What doest thou here, Elijah?” [1 Kings 19:12-13]

Do you hear the sound of his voice, specifically, the “noise of his voice”? God marvelously directs his voice in the thunder “unto the ends of the earth” roaring in a most excellent voice. It is the voice of his words to all men in all the nations of the earth.

Think of God as a drummer, and ask yourself this question? Are you tuned to hear the drum [the voice] of God? Now, further consider what Job said by the Spirit of God in Job chapter thirty-seven:

“Hear attentively the noise of his voice, and the sound that goeth out of his mouth. He directeth it under the whole heaven, and his lightning unto the ends of the earth. After it a voice roareth: he thundereth with the voice of his excellency; and he will not stay them when his voice is heard. God thundereth marvellously with his voice; great things doeth he, which we cannot comprehend.” [Job 37:2-5]

THUNDER - “God thundereth marvelously with his voice”! Consider the contrast of the glow of the coals of fire amidst the cold of hail stones. Man just cannot comprehend it! He is overwhelmed in the speaking of God’s glory.

“The Lord also thundered in the heavens, and the Highest gave his voice; hail stones and coals of fire.” [Psalm 18:13]

“The voice of the Lord maketh the hinds to calve, and discovereth the forests: and in his temple doth every one speak of his glory.” [Psalm 29:9]

“And the Lord shall cause his glorious voice to be heard, and shall shew the lighting down of his arm, with the indignation of his anger, and with the flame of a devouring fire, with scattering, and tempest, and hailstones.” [Isaiah 30:30]

MOVEMENT - God’s voice of judgment [the utterance of his words] will move all of man’s kingdoms, in spite of man’s opposition, and will establish the Kingdom of Heaven here on this Earth … see [Psalm 2], and here, in Psalm 46:6 and Isaiah 66:5-9].

“The heathen raged, the kingdoms were moved: he uttered his voice, the earth melted.” [Psalm 46:6] “Hear the word of the Lord, ye that tremble at his word; Your brethren that hated you, that cast you out for my name's sake, said, Let the Lord be glorified: but he shall appear to your joy, and they shall be ashamed. A voice of noise from the city, a voice from the temple, a voice of the Lord that rendereth recompence to his enemies. Before she travailed, she brought forth; before her pain came, she was delivered of a man child. Who hath heard such a thing? who hath seen such things? Shall the earth be made to bring forth in one day? or shall a nation be born at once? for as soon as Zion travailed, she brought forth her children. Shall I bring to the birth, and not cause to bring forth? saith the Lord: shall I cause to bring forth, and shut the womb? saith thy God.” [Isaiah 66:5-9]

TROUBLE – Prophecy is future history that is foretold. Prophecy fulfilled becomes history. There will be a day when the Jewish nation in their “trouble” will be obedient to “his voice”.

This will be called: “the time of Jacob’s trouble”. “Alas! for that day is great, so that none is like it: it is even the time of Jacob's trouble, but he shall be saved out of it.” [Jeremiah 30:7]

“When thou art in tribulation, and all these things are come upon thee, even in the latter days, if thou turn to the Lord thy God, and shalt be obedient unto his voice;” [Deuteronomy 4:30]

“Therefore thou shalt say unto them, Thus saith the Lord of hosts, the God of Israel; Drink ye, and be drunken, and spue, and fall, and rise no more, because of the sword which I will send among you. And it shall be, if they refuse to take the cup at thine hand to drink, then shalt thou say unto them, Thus saith the Lord of hosts; Ye shall certainly drink. For, lo, I begin to bring evil on the city which is called by my name, and should ye be utterly unpunished? Ye shall not be unpunished: for I will call for a sword upon all the inhabitants of the earth, saith the Lord of hosts. Therefore prophesy thou against them all these words, and say unto them, The Lord shall roar from on high, and utter his voice from his holy habitation; he shall mightily roar upon his habitation; he shall give a shout, as they that tread the grapes, against all the inhabitants of the earth. A noise shall come even to the ends of the earth; for the Lord hath a controversy with the nations, he will plead with all flesh; he will give them that are wicked to the sword, saith the Lord. Thus saith the Lord of hosts, Behold, evil shall go forth from nation to nation, and a great whirlwind shall be raised up from the coasts of the earth. And the slain of the Lord shall be at that day from one end of the earth even unto the other end of the earth: they shall not be lamented, neither gathered, nor buried; they shall be dung upon the ground.” [Jeremiah 25:27-33]

“And the Lord shall utter his voice before his army: for his camp is very great: for he is strong that executeth his word: for the day of the Lord is great and very terrible; and who can abide it?” [Joel 2:11]

“The Lord also shall roar out of Zion, and utter his voice from Jerusalem; and the heavens and the earth shall shake: but the Lord will be the hope of his people, and the strength of the children of Israel.” [Joel 3:16]

“And he said, The Lord will roar from Zion, and utter his voice from Jerusalem; and the habitations of the shepherds shall mourn, and the top of Carmel shall wither.” [Amos 1:2]

“When I heard, my belly trembled; my lips quivered at the voice: rottenness entered into my bones, and I trembled in myself, that I might rest in the day of trouble: when he cometh up unto the people, he will invade them with his troops.” [Habakuk 3:16]

At the conclusion of the seven years of the Great Tribulation, at the soon coming judgment of the nations, the voice of the people of God will respond [TALK] in much praise to the hearing of the mighty voice of God. “O bless our God, ye people, and make the voice of his praise to be heard:” [Psalm 66:8]. It goes without saying, there will be much talking between God and man in the millennial Kingdom of Heaven. This will all be, as it should be. This will be, as it should have been all along ever since the creation of man, but for Adam’s sin, and for our sin.

SEA CHANGE - In the sea change that is coming to this earth during the one thousand year reign of Jesus Christ in the Kingdom of heaven, we will all see and hear from the voice of his treasures in the restitution of all things. The voice of joy! The voice of gladness! The voice of the bridegroom! And the voice of the bride and voice of all that will praise the Lord of hosts!

“When he uttereth his voice, there is a multitude of waters in the heavens, and he causeth the vapours to ascend from the ends of the earth; he maketh lightnings with rain, and bringeth forth the wind out of his treasures.” [Jeremiah 10:13]

“The voice of joy, and the voice of gladness, the voice of the bridegroom, and the voice of the bride, the voice of them that shall say, Praise the Lord of hosts: for the Lord is good; for his mercy endureth for ever: and of them that shall bring the sacrifice of praise into the house of the Lord. For I will cause to return the captivity of the land, as at the first, saith the Lord.” [Jeremiah 33:11]

At the end of this age when the Kingdom of Heaven comes, [“Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven.” [Matthew 6:10]], we will bless our God … for we are sheep of his hand! “So we thy people and sheep of thy pasture will give thee thanks for ever: we will shew forth thy praise to all generations.” [Psalm 79:13]

Scripture saith in the book of Psalms that the true believer in Jesus Christ, WHO is GOD [“God was manifest in the flesh” [1 Timothy 3:16]] are “the sheep of his hand” “if ye hear his voice”: “O bless our God, ye people, and make the voice of his praise to be heard:“ [Psalm 66:8] “To him that rideth upon the heavens of heavens, which were of old; lo, he doth send out his voice, and that a mighty voice.” [Psalm 68:33] “For he is our God; and we are the people of his pasture, and the sheep of his hand. To day if ye will hear his voice,” [Psalm 95:7]

TODAY – Now, today, do you hear his voice? This sailor heard his voice during the Vietnam War in 1973 while aboard the aircraft carrier, the U.S.S. Enterprise. My testimony is this: I have heard the voice of his words down through these last forty plus years. I can see by faith and hear his glorious voice, and it moves me to warn all those around me, with the voice of my words, the impending judgment of God towards all men.

“So thou, O son of man, I have set thee a watchman unto the house of Israel; therefore thou shalt hear the word at my mouth, and warn them from me.” [Ezekiel 33:7]

Rick St.James is a watchman!

I am a watchman on the wall! I am a “watchman” warning the sinner to flee to the cleft of the rock that is only found in Jesus Christ. Jesus Christ is the hiding place! “Thou art my hiding place and my shield: I hope in thy word.” [Psalm 119:114]

GREAT RUSHING – And lastly, God’s voice is shown to be a “great rushing” of his words from Heaven to all of the ends of Earth!

Read with me what Spirit of God saith in the book of Ezekiel: “Then the spirit took me up, and I heard behind me a voice of a great rushing, saying, Blessed be the glory of the Lord from his place.” [Ezekiel 3:12]

“And, behold, the glory of the God of Israel came from the way of the east: and his voice was like a noise of many waters: and the earth shined with his glory.” [Ezekiel 43:2]

Now, in the book of Daniel we continue: “Then I lifted up mine eyes, and looked, and behold a certain man clothed in linen, whose loins were girded with fine gold of Uphaz: His body also was like the Beryl, and his face as the appearance of lightning, and his eyes as lamps of fire, and his arms and his feet like in colour to polished brass, and the voice of his words like the voice of a multitude. And I Daniel alone saw the vision: for the men that were with me saw not the vision; but a great quaking fell upon them, so that they fled to hide themselves. Therefore I was left alone, and saw this great vision, and there remained no strength in me: for my comeliness was turned in me into corruption, and I retained no strength. Yet heard I the voice of his words: and when I heard the voice of his words, then was I in a deep sleep on my face, and my face toward the ground.” [Daniel 10:5-9]

A cryptic summation: SIGNIFICATION is to TUNED, and DE-TUNED is to REBELLION, and RE-TUNED to HEARKEN, and TRANSMISSION equals TALKING, and agreement to COMMAND means COMMITMENT and very PERSONAL; and THUNDER brings MOVEMENT and TROUBLE will bring a SEA CHANGE; time is TODAY for you, soon GREAT RUSHING.

So we see the sheep hear the voice of God’s words, and we learn in the book of Romans that faith cometh by hearing the words of God, which come by the voice of God: “So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.” [Romans 10:17]

2. The Advent

Someone came to this earth nearly two thousand years ago whose voice was not recognized [heard] in any street of the villages, towns, or cities of a particular nation [Israel]. This SOMEONE came on a mission as a servant and would be the PERSON on WHOSE “name shall the Gentiles trust.” What is more, this servant came from beyond the expanse of the Universe from the sides of the north which is beyond the crystal sea.

We have for us a vantage-ground, which is located in the book of Matthew chapter twelve, verses 18-21: “Behold my servant, whom I have chosen; my beloved, in whom my soul is well pleased: I will put my spirit upon him, and he shall shew judgment to the Gentiles. He shall not strive, nor cry; neither shall any man hear his voice in the streets. A bruised reed shall he not break, and smoking flax shall he not quench, till he send forth judgment unto victory. And in his name shall the Gentiles trust.” [Matthew 12:18-21]

Furthermore, it is prophesied [in the BOOK] that in a certain hour, that is coming soon, that the “voice” of this very same PERSON will be recognized [heard] by all of those who are “in the graves”. Yes all … who have ever lived on this planet … will recognize and obey this voice!!!
“Marvel not at this: for the hour is coming, in the which all that are in the graves shall hear his voice,” [John 5:28].

Now, the BOOK I am making reference to ... is the word of God, which in the English language is commonly known as the King James Bible [The Authorized Version of 1611 or any of its editions].

3. The Bizarre Creature

There is someone else here, in the Bible who has never been understood by the men of this world, nor can they.

Let me pause here for a moment. When a person confronts something he cannot understand, he will refer to it as being odd, or as strange, and even as bizarre. There is a reason why this is so. It is because he cannot discern spiritual things.

Now, the Spirit of God says it this way in the First Epistle to the Corinthians: “But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned.” [1 Corinthians 2:14]

A “natural man” cannot understand spiritual things. We are born into this world as “natural” without the ability to discern the spiritual.

Let me continue with this someone else, who has never been understood by the “natural” men of this world. This someone else is really a whole group of a certain people, and these certain people are labeled as ODD, as STRANGE, and even BIZARRE by the people of this world.

Now there is something else here; these odd people were first called Christians in Antioch according to the book of the Acts. “And when he had found him, he brought him unto Antioch. And it came to pass, that a whole year they assembled themselves with the church, and taught much people. And the disciples were called Christians first in Antioch.” [Acts 11:26]

Now this leads us to a question. What is a Christian? This is a mystery according to the Bible. For this, we need let the words of God that have come by voice of God dispel all the fog of superstition and unbelief and drive it out to the sea to identify the true Christian. The key to understanding the CHRISTIAN is this verse of Scripture found in the book of Colossians: “To whom God would make known what is the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles; which is Christ in you, the hope of glory:” [Colossians 1:27]

4. The Attributes of the Bizarre Creature

The word Christian means “Christ in you”. See for this [1 Corinthians 1:30] and [Ephesians 2:6].

The Law of God is fulfilled in us [the true Christian – Christ in us].

“That the righteousness of the law might be fulfilled in us, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.” [Romans 8:4]

“For when the Gentiles, which have not the law, do by nature the things contained in the law, these, having not the law, are a law unto themselves:” [Romans 2:14]

We [true Christians – Christ in us] are dead to the Law.

“Wherefore, my brethren, ye also are become dead to the law by the body of Christ; that ye should be married to another, even to him who is raised from the dead, that we should bring forth fruit unto God.” [Romans 7:4]

Here are some of the attributes of a true Christian:

A true Christian is “a new creature”:

“Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.” [2 Corinthians 5:17]

There is no way to minimize this newness. A true Christian is a different “creature”.

A true Christian is a hybrid creature.

He is “born of God”, though he still be in his body of flesh:

“Whosoever is born of God doth not commit sin; for his seed remaineth in him: and he cannot sin, because he is born of God.” [1 John 3:9] See 1 Peter 1:23, 1 John 4:7, 1 John 5:1, 4, 18.

However, in the book of Romans chapter seven, we see the revelation that the Christian has two natures; an “inward man” and an outward man.

Notice: the outward man is ruled by his “members.” The Apostle Paul testifies to this truth: “For I delight in the law of God after the inward man: But I see another law in my members, warring against the law of my mind, and bringing me into captivity to the law of sin which is in my members. O wretched man that I am! who shall deliver me from the body of this death?” [Romans 7:22-24]

A Christian is a spiritual [supernatural] creature.

“But he that is spiritual judgeth all things, yet he himself is judged of no man.” [1 Corinthians 2:15] [“That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit.” [John 3:6] What is “born of the Spirit” is baptized [immersed] by the “Spirit” into a spiritual body. “For by one Spirit are we all baptized into one body, whether we be Jews or Gentiles, whether we be bond or free; and have been all made to drink into one Spirit.” [1 Corinthians 12:13]

A Christian is a tuned creature that is now enabled to hear the “voice” of God whereas the natural man cannot hear this voice.

In John chapter ten, the word of God has given, by the Spirit of God to the believer in Jesus Christ, this beautiful picture of the porter and his sheep. “To him the porter openeth; and the sheep hear his voice: and he calleth his own sheep by name, and leadeth them out. And when he putteth forth his own sheep, he goeth before them, and the sheep follow him: for they know his voice.” [John 10:3-4]

5. The Events in the Creation of the Bizarre Creature

A true believer in Jesus Christ [in this age] has been by “the operation of God”:

“circumcised” from the flesh,
“forgiven” of trespasses,
“buried” with Jesus in baptism,
“risen with him” from the dead,
“quickened” or “born again”

All these events occur in the exact moment any person gets saved for now nearly two thousand years. Carefully and prayerfully see all these truths for yourself in the Epistle to the Colossians:

“In whom also ye are circumcised with the circumcision made without hands, in putting off the body of the sins of the flesh by the circumcision of Christ: Buried with him in baptism, wherein also ye are risen with him through the faith of the operation of God, who hath raised him from the dead. And you, being dead in your sins and the uncircumcision of your flesh, hath he quickened together with him, having forgiven you all trespasses;” [Colossians 2:11-13].

A true “sheep” will “hear” the “voice” of the Son of God. This is an attribute of a true Christian.

Further, a true “sheep” follows [obeys] the shepherd. The shepherd knows them. This is a very personal and intimate relationship. “My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me:” [John 10:27]

In verse twenty-eight we will see that the relationship of the true Christian with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ will continue into eternity, for the believer has been given “eternal life” and cannot lose it. “And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand.” [John 10:28]

Then a true believer has by “the operation of God” not only been:

“circumcised” from the flesh,
“forgiven” of trespasses,
“buried” with Jesus in baptism,
“risen with him” from the dead,
“quickened” or born again,

But a true believer has also:

• Been given “eternal life”.
• Been “sealed”
• Received “the earnest of the Spirit”
• The “Spirit of God” dwelling in him
• Been baptized “into one body”
• Been made “to drink into one Spirit”

Now, the true Christian has been “sealed” by “the operation of God” because he has received “the earnest of the Spirit”. “Who hath also sealed us, and given the earnest of the Spirit in our hearts.” [2 Corinthians 1:22]

Furthermore, the believer’s body has become a “temple” of God. “Know ye not that ye are the temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwelleth in you? If any man defile the temple of God, him shall God destroy; for the temple of God is holy, which temple ye are.” [1 Corinthians 3:16-17]

“For by one Spirit are we all baptized into one body, whether we be Jews or Gentiles, whether we be bond or free; and have been all made to drink into one Spirit.” [1 Corinthians 12:13]

The Old Testament prophets prophesied of a future time when “the grace that should come” that would be so great in manifestation because of “the glory that should follow”.

They saw it for us, yet not experience for themselves this grace: “that not unto themselves”.

See for this First Peter chapter one, verses ten through twelve: “Of which salvation the prophets have inquired and searched diligently, who prophesied of the grace that should come unto you: Searching what, or what manner of time the spirit of Christ which was in them did signify, when it testified beforehand the sufferings of Christ, and the glory that should follow. Unto whom it was revealed, that not unto themselves, but unto us they did minister the things, which are now reported unto you by them that have preached the gospel unto you with the Holy Ghost sent down from heaven; which things the angels desire to look into.” [1 Peter 1:10-12]

Now the “grace” of God has been seen down through the ages. Noah found grace. “But Noah found grace in the eyes of the Lord.” [Genesis 6:8]

We are now all living in the time when the “grace” of God has greatly abounded for now nearly two thousand years. [Thus, we can call it … the Age of Grace.]

We need pause here to consider the importance [to us living today] of the annual events on the Jewish calendar.

We are now ready to see the prophetic importance to the Gentiles of the feasts of LORD given to Israel, which is located in the books of the Exodus and Leviticus, and how these feasts of LORD point forward to us in this age we all live in … even to us living in the 21st century.

6. The Three Feasts

“Three times thou shalt keep a feast unto me in the year.” [Exodus 23:14]

Now, these three feasts can be seen to have a correspondence to three separate but connected future events, which are now being fulfilled in the Church Age [the Age of Grace].

The first event is:

The Feast of the Passover

“Thou shalt not offer the blood of my sacrifice with leaven; neither shall the sacrifice of the feast of the passover be left unto the morning.” [Exodus 34:25]

“Then Moses called for all the elders of Israel, and said unto them, Draw out and take you a lamb according to your families, and kill the passover.” [Exodus 12:21]

The “passover” was killed for us! Jesus Christ shed his blood and died on Calvary’s Cross for the “atonement” of all our sins, my sins and your sins. Amen!

This is perfectly described by the Apostle Paul through the Spirit of God in the book of Romans chapter five, verses eight through eleven: “But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. Much more then, being now justified by his blood, we shall be saved from wrath through him. For if, when we were enemies, we were reconciled to God by the death of his Son, much more, being reconciled, we shall be saved by his life. And not only so, but we also joy in God through our Lord Jesus Christ, by whom we have now received the atonement.” [Romans 5:8-11]

We “now received the atonement.” Next, the resurrection from the dead.
Christ the Firstfruits – “the firstborn from the dead”

“But now is Christ risen from the dead, and become the firstfruits of them that slept. For since by man came death, by man came also the resurrection of the dead. For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ shall all be made alive.” [1 Corinthians 15:20-22] “And he is the head of the body, the church: who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead; that in all things he might have the preeminence.” [Colossians 1:18]

The second event is:

The Feast of Weeks or Firstfruits - called the day of Pentecost

“And the feast of harvest, the firstfruits of thy labours, which thou hast sown in the field: and the feast of ingathering, which is in the end of the year, when thou hast gathered in thy labours out of the field.” [Exodus 23:16]

“And when the day of Pentecost was fully come, they were all with one accord in one place. And suddenly there came a sound from heaven as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled all the house where they were sitting. And there appeared unto them cloven tongues like as of fire, and it sat upon each of them. And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.” [Acts 2:4]

Christians are “a kind of firstfruits of his creatures.” “Of his own will begat he us with the word of truth, that we should be a kind of firstfruits of his creatures.” [James 1:18]

The third event is:

The Feast of The Ingathering

The “feast of ingathering, which is in the end of the year, when thou hast gathered in thy labours out of the field.” [Exodus 23:16b] This “feast of ingathering" will have a future element in the fulfillment of the ingathering of all “the dead in Christ” with those who “are alive” at the end of this present age. [I will go further into this.] “But every man in his own order: Christ the firstfruits; afterward they that are Christ's at his coming.” [1 Corinthians 15:23]

To review: the believer in Jesus Christ in this age [from Pentecost to the Translation of the Church]:

• Is “circumcised” from the flesh,
• Is “forgiven” of trespasses,
• Is “buried” with Jesus in baptism,
• Is “risen with him” from the dead,
• Is “quickened” or born again,
• Has “eternal life”.
• Is “sealed”
• Has “the earnest of the Spirit”.
• Has the “Spirit of God” dwelling in him,
• Has been “baptized into one body”
• Has been made “to drink into one Spirit”

These attributes enable … the Sheep [The True Christian] to Hear His Voice. The Sheep Hear His Voice!

Nobody ever, until the day of Pentecost, experienced all these “operations of God” in the confines of a human being. This is why this group of people is considered so ODD, STRANGE, and even BIZARRE by the people of this world. It is because the Christian is truly ODD, STRANGE, and BIZARRE, being “a new creature” in Jesus Christ … who “hear his voice”.

The Sheep Hear His Voice!

What God hath said by “his voice” … in the book of Hebrews to the Hebrews is for us also, who live today in the 21st century: “Wherefore (as the Holy Ghost saith, To day if ye will hear his voice,” [Hebrews 3:7] And again notice the “voice”: “While it is said, To day if ye will hear his voice, harden not your hearts, as in the provocation.” [Hebrews 3:15]

Now in chapter four: “Again, he limiteth a certain day, saying in David, To day, after so long a time; as it is said, To day if ye will hear his voice, harden not your hearts.” [Hebrews 4:7]

• You need to hear the voice of God.
• You need to hear the voice of the Porter.
• You need to hear the voice of the Shepherd.

And soon, if you do hear the voice of God, because you:
• Are “circumcised” from the flesh,
• Are “forgiven” of trespasses,
• Are “buried” with Jesus in baptism,
• Are “risen with him” from the dead,
• Are “quickened” or born again,
• Have received “eternal life”.
• Have been “sealed”
• Received “the earnest of the Spirit”.
• Have the “Spirit of God” dwelling in you,
• Are baptized “into one body”
• Are made “to drink into one Spirit”

… You will fly away!

The Sheep will Hear His Voice … when HE comes in the clouds!

7. The Translation of the Bizarre Creature

We are on the very precipice of the fulfillment … in the ticking pulse of time … when the saints of the Church Age will hear the sound of a trumpet, and shall be gathered in the clouds above this earth, to transit the vast expanse of the Universe to a location far away in “the sides of the north” which is the third heaven.

For this reference to the “third heaven” see: [2 Corinthians 12:2] “I knew a man in Christ above fourteen years ago, (whether in the body, I cannot tell; or whether out of the body, I cannot tell: God knoweth;) such an one caught up to the third heaven.”

When Jesus Christ comes “in the clouds”, the “sheep” will hear… the SHOUT: “the voice of the Lord” with “the voice of the archangel” “with the trump of God”!

This event will formulate the translation of the body of Christ, which is the church: “For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord." [1 Thessalonians 4:16-17]

The Sheep will hear his voice!

“Beautiful for situation, the joy of the whole earth, is mount Zion, on the sides of the north, the city of the great King.” [Psalm 48:2]

Furthermore, this event, the translation of the Church, is shown in type by the translation of Enoch as shown in the book of Hebrews. “By faith Enoch was translated that he should not see death; and was not found, because God had translated him: for before his translation he had this testimony, that he pleased God.” [Hebrews 11:5]

Enoch’s disappearance from the face of this earth without experiencing physical death shows forth the soon disappearance of the true Christians that are alive at that time without experiencing physical death.

“Wherefore comfort one another with these words.” [1 Thessalonians 4:16-18]
In conclusion: a true “sheep” will “hear” the “voice” of the Son of God. This is an attribute of a true Christian.

Further, a true “sheep” follows [obeys] the shepherd. The shepherd knows them.

Once again, this is a very personal and intimate relationship as the BOOK of GOD shows us: “My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me:” [John 10:27]

The Sheep Hear His Voice!

The true believer in Jesus Christ will hear the voice of the SHOUT and participate in the GREAT FLY AWAY at the end of this church age to meet the LORD in the air. Amen! Amen! Amen!

SIGNIFICATION is to TUNED, and DE-TUNED is to REBELLION, and RE-TUNED to HEARKEN, and TRANSMISSION equals TALKING and agreement to COMMAND means COMMITMENT and very PERSONAL; and THUNDER brings MOVEMENT, and TROUBLE will bring a SEA CHANGE; time is TODAY for you to get saved, soon the GREAT RUSHING.

The Sheep Hear His Voice! Amen!
