3. The Sacrifice in Bozrah

We read in the book of Judges [in chapter five, verses four through seven]:

“LORD, when thou wentest out of Seir, when thou marchedst out of the field of Edom, the earth trembled, and the heavens dropped, the clouds also dropped water.

The mountains melted from before the LORD, even that Sinai from before the LORD God of Israel.
In the days of Shamgar the son of Anath, in the days of Jael, the highways were unoccupied, and the travellers walked through byways.

The inhabitants of the villages ceased, they ceased in Israel, until that I Deborah arose, that I arose a mother in Israel.” [Judges 5:4-7]

Now, someone here is going to travel from Sinai to Edom—in the near future.

The LORD is the TRAVELER.

Often the Spirit of God in the Bible states something in the past tense, as if it has already happened, yet it is something that is prophesied by the Spirit of God to happen in the future.

This is the case found here in Deborah’s song in the book of the Judges.

See the following words:

• Wentest [It is in the past tense].
• Marchedst [past tense]
• Trembled [past tense]
• Dropped [past tense]
• Melted [past tense]

So even if this was in the days of Shamgar, yet it is not fulfilled in the days of Shamgar. It is in the future. It will some day come to pass!

• God is going to go “out of Seir” [this is in the future].
• God is going to march “out of the field of Edom” [this is in the future].
• The earth will tremble!
• The heavens will drop!
• The clouds will drop water!
• The mountains will melt!

While all this is true [both in the past, and in the future], God is riding in the present “upon the heavens”. Amen!

We see this in Psalm sixty-eight, verse four: “Sing unto God, sing praises to his name: extol him that rideth upon the heavens by his name JAH, and rejoice before him.” [Psalm 68:4]

God rides [by his name JAH] even right now!

Skip down now to verse seven: “O God, when thou wentest forth before thy people, when thou didst march through the wilderness; Selah: The earth shook, the heavens also dropped at the presence of God: even Sinai itself was moved at the presence of God, the God of Israel.” [Psalm 68:7-8]

See the following words:

“Didst march”

[It is in the past tense].

Yet it is in the future!

God will march in the wilderness of Sinai … in a day that yet is coming!

Now note this: Riding and marching involve traveling.

The LORD is traveling. He has an appointment to keep in Bozrah.

Now, open the BOOK to Isaiah chapter thirty-four and come down to verse six: “The sword of the LORD is filled with blood, it is made fat with fatness, and with the blood of lambs and goats, with the fat of the kidneys of rams: for the LORD hath a sacrifice in Bozrah, and a great slaughter in the land of Idumea.” [Isaiah 34:6]

Now, consider the arrow.

It travels.

 It goes forth to the great sacrifice in Bozrah.

Zechariah 9:14: “And the LORD shall be seen over them, and his arrow shall go forth as the lightning: and the Lord GOD shall blow the trumpet, and shall go with whirlwinds of the south.”

We have here the arrow of the LORD.

Now, the arrow of Jesus Christ is set to go forth [as the lightning] across the skies of this earth.

“The sun and moon stood still in their habitation: at the light of thine arrows they went, and at the shining of thy glittering spear.” [Habakkuk 3:11]

The TRIBULATION is coming to this earth: “For then shall be great tribulation, such as was not since the beginning of the world to this time, no, nor ever shall be. And except those days should be shortened, there should no flesh be saved: but for the elect's sake those days shall be shortened.” [Matthew 24:21-22]

Those days will be shortened!

Yea, very soon this arrow will travel forth to bring in a new era.

And what is this new era? This new era is a KINGDOM!

This traveling arrow will usher in the one-thousand-year reign of Jesus Christ on this earth from Jerusalem.

This arrow is now set to travel, and this very soon.

We are travelling on!

Listen to me. The world doesn’t even know what is coming to hit them! It will be qs it says in Psalm sixty-four: “But God shall shoot at them with an arrow; suddenly shall they be wounded.” [Psalm 64:7]

Even the wicked can be made to take up a parable in obedience to God!

Even a man like Balaam the son of Beor that forsook the right way [2 Peter 2:15] can be made to take up a parable to the honor and glory of God. [See the book of Numbers 24:3 for this.]

Now for the parable, which is a prophecy. Numbers 24:5-9:

“How goodly are thy tents, O Jacob, and thy tabernacles, O Israel! As the valleys are they spread forth, as gardens by the river's side, as the trees of lign aloes which the LORD hath planted, and as cedar trees beside the waters.

[The Kingdom of Heaven is being described here.

The word of God is speaking to you.

Listen to this BOOK.]

“He shall pour the water out of his buckets, and his seed shall be in many waters, and his king shall be higher than Agag, and his kingdom shall be exalted.

[Note the “he” in the verse. Who is this “he”? Why, the “he” is Jacob!

Also, this “he” refers to Israel [verse five].

Now, who is Israel’s king? Israel’s KING is the Son of God, Jesus Christ, whose kingdom shall be exalted!]

“God brought him forth out of Egypt; “he hath as it were the strength of an unicorn: he shall eat up the nations his enemies, and shall break their bones, and pierce them through with his arrows.

[The “him” is Israel—Exodus 12:40, Hosea 12:13, Haggi 2:5]. [Or the “him” is Jesus Christ - Matthew 2:15.

You almost cannot separate the two. Amen!!!]

[This will literally happen in the Valley of Jezreel—Armageddon.

The arrows are set; they will be flying soon!]

“He couched, he lay down as a lion, and as a great lion: who shall stir him up? Blessed is he that blesseth thee, and cursed is he that curseth thee. [Numbers 24:5-9.]

[The Lion of Juda will soon be on the scene.]

Watch the arrows fly!!!

See those arrows fly in the Fifth Book of Moses called Deuteronomy: “I will heap mischiefs upon them; I will spend mine arrows upon them.” [Deuteronomy 32:23]

Again in Deuteronomy, God will make his arrows drunk: “I will make mine arrows drunk with blood, and my sword shall devour flesh; and that with the blood of the slain and of the captives, from the beginning of revenges upon the enemy.” [Deuteronomy 32:42]

He sends those arrows out in the Second Book of Samuel: “And he sent out arrows, and scattered them; lightning, and discomfited them.” [2 Samuel 22:15]

We see his arrows in the Book of Psalms: “He hath also prepared for him the instruments of death; he ordaineth his arrows against the persecutors.” [Psalm 7:13]

“Yea, he sent out his arrows, and scattered them; and he shot out lightnings, and discomfited them.” [Psalm 18:14]

“Therefore shalt thou make them turn their back, when thou shalt make ready thine arrows upon thy strings against the face of them.” [Psalm 21:12]

“Thine arrows are sharp in the heart of the king's enemies; whereby the people fall under thee.” [Psalm 45:5]

“Cast forth lightning, and scatter them: shoot out thine arrows, and destroy them.” [Psalm 144:6]

These arrows of the LORD are sharp, ready to be sent out … to shoot the enemies.

4. Mighty to Save

Jesus Christ is on a mission.

HE is traveling!

Now, turn to the book of Isaiah, chapter sixty-three, and see verse one: “Who is this that cometh from Edom, with dyed garments from Bozrah? this that is glorious in his apparel, travelling in the greatness of his strength? I that speak in righteousness, mighty to save.” [Isaiah 63:1]

Do you see it?

Jesus Christ is “mighty to save”, and see this!

HE is traveling!

Jesus Christ is traveling to establish the throne in Zion [Jerusalem on planet Earth] and HE starts in Zion of “the sides of the north” [Zion in Heaven], then in “a moment, in the twinkling of an eye” transits to the planet Earth to “the wilderness of Sinai” [Exodus 19:1], then next, “the wilderness of Paran”, then to Teman and to Bozrah of Edom [Seir] and finally, to Jerusalem, the geographical center of the Earth.

See him coming in the Bible in the end times [the Authorized King James Bible of 1611, or any of its editions, in the Song of Solomon in chapter two, verse eight: “The voice of my beloved! behold, he cometh leaping upon the mountains, skipping upon the hills.” [Song of Solomon 2:8]

Arrows travel.

We are like the arrows shot by the powerful bow of the archer into the world.

We are born!

[Note: It is recorded in the BOOK this fact of life: “Yet man is born unto trouble, as the sparks fly upward.” [Job 5:7]

Further, we are all born to travel.

All men travel.

Moreover, we are all moving.

Mind you, we all come into this world to travel the road [the road of life] … until we reach the end of the road.

The Spirit of God says this in the BOOK of God: “that we cannot go in our streets: our end is near, our days are fulfilled; for our end is come.” [Lamentations 4:18b]

There will come a day when we can no longer go in our streets.

All along this road are the warning signs that God has placed for us to ready us for what is ahead.

Will we heed?

What will our end be?

Now, what are these warning signs?

Answer: The LORD’s servants are the warning signs! “And the LORD hath sent unto you all his servants the prophets, rising early and sending them; but ye have not hearkened, nor inclined your ear to hear.” [Jeremiah 25:4]

God has placed all along the road for us travelers, more than the prophets. “And he gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers;” [Ephesians 4:11].

Will we heed? What will our end be?
The warning signs read: You need to be born again

“Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.

“Nicodemus saith unto him, How can a man be born when he is old? can he enter the second time into his mother's womb, and be born?

"Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God.

“That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit.” [John 3:3-6]

Once you are born of the Spirit you will be like the arrow shot by the powerful bow of the Archer of eternal life into life never ending.

Now, while we are alive on this earth, and on this our journey, I plead with you to turn to Jesus Christ by faith, and get saved from the wrath of God, which is soon to come at the end of this age.

Come to THE PERSON before your journey is over!

Come to Jesus Christ!

“For whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world: and this is the victory that overcometh the world, even our faith.” [1 John 5:4]

Amen!
